With the announcement of the film *Pariwar* (Family), shooting has officially begun.

Kathmandu – The Nepali film *Pariwar* (Family) has officially been announced, with its production launched through a ceremonial “shubhamuhurt” event in the capital. Directed by Madan Thapa, filming has begun alongside the announcement. Most of the shooting will take place in Kathmandu, though a few scenes will also be shot outside the valley, according to the production team.

Director Madan Thapa previously directed *Bato: Road to Death* and served as the creative director for *Abhimanyu: Chapter 1*, which is scheduled to release on Bhadra 27 (September 12).

The announcement poster for *Pariwar* features four characters: one man, two women, and a child—raising speculation that the story may involve two wives. A dog and a cat also appear, symbolizing perhaps a fractured or constantly quarrelling family. The title design emphasizes “Pari” separately, while the rest spells out “WAR” in English, cleverly hinting at internal family conflict.

The cast has not been officially revealed yet. The film is produced by Kiran Rijal, Ramesh Sahi, Bishakha Bikram Thapa, and Spranza Kandel, with Santosh Adhikari as co-producer.

The story is written by Prem Thapa and Ganesh Upadhyay, while director Thapa is also credited with story direction. Niraj Kandel is the DOP, Sher Shahi serves as the creative director, and Bishakha Bikram Thapa is in charge of style direction. Vishesh Maharjan will handle cinematography, Sirja Bhujel is the chief assistant director, Rajiv Gahtoraj is the assistant director, and NB Maharjan is the action director. Waris Sona is the line producer, and Ramesh Bahadur Sahi is the executive producer.

The film is presented by Ray of Art, in collaboration with Visa Eye Films and Sahi Films, and produced under the banner of Aatreya Production House.
